Helps people find and/or start no-fee community support groups
Our NJ Clearinghouse provides descriptions and contacts for over 7,650 local NJ support groups, and over 1,100 national and online support networks for any illness, disability, addiction, bereavement situation, parenting, caregiver concern, abuse, or other stressful life situation. To see listing of only the groups that meet in Morris County, go to:
www.mededfund.org/njgroups/Morris_County_Groups.pdf
Also we can refer callers to any of the over 100 individuals who are currently seeking others to help in starting needed new support groups in different areas of NJ. We provide free help and "how-to" materials to anyone interested in starting a new group (to see just a small sample, go to our NJ website and click on our "Library of Free Downloadable How-to Literature"). Over the last 27 years, we have helped over a thousand individuals to start needed new self-help support groups in NJ. For help in simply finding a group or possibly forming one, from anywhere in NJ, just call us at 1-800-367-6274 or 1-800-FOR-M.A.S.H. (Mutual Aid Self-Help). The 736-page 23nd Edition hardcopy of our Self-Help Group Directory: Your Guide to Local New Jersey, National, and Online Groups was published May, 2008 (copies are available in the reference sections of many NJ public libraries).
